Douglas Machining Services
Douglas Machining Services was founded in 2005 in Winona, Minnesota. Dan Douglas built the company on mill-turn machining from the start, and it has remained the core of what the shop does. Douglas joined the Compass Precision platform in March 2021, and Compass invested in additional mill-turn capacity soon after to keep pace with growing customer demand.
Douglas runs a large fleet of multi-tasking mill-turn machines, most with 5-axis capability, for industrial and specialty customers across the upper Midwest and nationally. Programs that would otherwise need multiple setups across separate machines complete in a single sequence at Douglas, holding tighter tolerances across the full feature set and getting parts out the door faster.
As part of the Compass Precision platform, Douglas Machining Services gives customers the mill-turn depth of a dedicated specialist backed by the broader capacity, shared systems, and coordinated support of a multi-site manufacturing platform.
