Low-to-mid volume CNC machining and light fabrication, built around OEM relationships that last for years

Tri-Tec Industries
Tri-Tec Industries is one of the three founding companies of the Compass Precision platform, machining in Charlotte, North Carolina since 1997. The company focuses on low-to-mid volume OEM contract manufacturing for customers in fluids filtration and purification, industrial automation, and chemical processing. Rick Loyd founded and still leads the business as President.
Tri-Tec runs as a genuine extension of its customers’ manufacturing operations, and most of the relationships have lasted for years. When a key customer’s volume outpaced Tri-Tec’s turning capacity in 2024, the shop added equipment rather than push the customer toward another supplier, keeping pace with what the material vendor was supplying and what the customer was ordering without asking the customer to qualify a new shop or split the program.
As part of the Compass Precision platform, Tri-Tec Industries gives customers the responsiveness of a dedicated contract shop backed by the broader capacity, shared systems, and coordinated support of a multi-site manufacturing platform.

Capabilities
Where They Excel
An Extension of the Customer’s Own Team
Tri-Tec built its business on recurring programs and relationships that outlast any single order. The shop takes on legacy parts other suppliers walk away from, carries the program history for work that has run for years, and adjusts scheduling when a customer’s demand shifts rather than making the customer manage the change across multiple vendors.
Core Capabilities
Shared Platform Capabilities
CNC Milling
3 and 4-axis CNC milling supports recurring production programs that need consistent output on industrial and specialty components.
CNC Turning
Large-diameter turning capacity handles components up to 20 inches in diameter, covering part requirements that most turning shops cannot take on.
Light Fabrication
MIG and TIG welding covers components that need both machined and fabricated elements combined into a single program.
Contract Manufacturing
Low-to-mid volume OEM contract manufacturing is structured around recurring programs and stable, long-term customer relationships rather than one-off orders.
Material Experience
All steel alloys, fully hardened steels, aluminum, and engineered plastics.
The parts were complex to manufacture,
but strong collaboration ensured smooth execution and the customer was satisfied with the result.”
